Maynard scored 35 goals in 57 starts for Crewe

Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard says he is convinced the goals will come after missing a couple of chances in Saturday's 1-0 win at Blackpool.

Maynard made his debut at Bloomfield Road after signing from Crewe.

The 21-year-old told BBC Radio Bristol: "I proved that I can get into positions to make chances. On another day they'll go in, it was just one of those days.

"The main thing is that we got three points because it's a team game, so overall I'm pleased."

Maynard, who cost Bristol City a club record �2.25m, added: "I enjoyed it a lot. It was disappointing not to get on the scoresheet but we got the win and that was the main thing."
