Sam Weale won a World Cup bronze medal in Somerset earlier this year
Bristol City goalkeeper Chris Weale is planning a late night to cheer on twin brother Sam at the Olympics.
Sam is set to compete in the modern pentathlon on Thursday, starting at 0130 BST, and Chris told BBC Radio Bristol he is hoping for a medal.
Chris said: "He's really excited to be there in what is his first full year of international competition.
"It's important to get a good start in the shoot and the fence. If he does that you never know what can happen."
The modern pentathlon is spread over five events - shooting, fencing, swimming, horse riding and running - all of which take place in one day.
"Sam has done really well to get there," Chris added.
"He'll be 30 at London 2012 so hopefully he'll have a lot better medal chance then because he'll have a lot more experience.
"We sat down at Christmas and said we'd both had a few bad years with injuries so we hoped it would be our year this year."
Chris started only his third league game for Bristol City in last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Derby and is likely to again be their last line of defence at Coventry this weekend.
