Bristol City are confident that Scott Murray will remain at Ashton Gate despite interest from other clubs.

The veteran Scottish winger is out of contract and has been offered a new one-year deal by City.

Swindon Town have been linked with a move for the 34-year-old, who has spent 11 years with Bristol City.

Manager Gary Johnson said: "We feel Scott would like to stay with us and I know he's spoken to the chairman. He can challenge for a place next season."

City chairman Steve Lansdown said: "[Our talks] were very positive. We'd like Scott to stay at the club and we've given him a contract offer. We await his response."
