Brighton must learn from recent run, says Will Hoskins

Brighton & Hove Albion striker Will Hoskins says they must learn from their recent run of form.

The Seagulls, beaten 3-1 at Ipswich on Saturday, have lost three of their last four league games and have slipped to fifth in the Championship table.

The 25-year-old told BBC Sussex: "This is what this league is all about. We're deluded if we think we can turn up and play our football every week.

"We'll look at it, learn from it, and come back even better and stronger."

He added: "The Crystal Palace defeat hurt and the Leeds game hurt as well, even though we got a point out of it. That's three games that we're disappointed about.

"We need to put it right, and we know what we need to do."

The former Watford and Bristol Rovers forward has been restricted to just 26 minutes of action so far this season after suffering a hip injury in training, but he says he is now close to full fitness.

"I could have been back a game or two sooner but you need to look after it or you'll be out for a long while.

"It seems to have gone away," he said.

However Hoskins is happy to play in reserve games over the international break to improve his sharpness.

"As a pro, you always want to play in the first team, but you need a few games under your belt.

"We've got a week of training and if there are any games available, I'll get involved," he concluded.
