Brighton must adapt to Amex Stadium, says Gary Dicker

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Gary Dicker says the side must adapt quickly to their new home at the Amex Stadium.

The first team have only played one pre-season game at the new 22,500-seater ground.

Dicker, 25, told BBC Sussex: "It's a big pitch. We have to get used to playing here when it is full.

"We need to punish teams when we have the ball. If we can make this place hard to play in for other teams, it will be a massive thing for us."

He added: "I've played at Wembley before, but this pitch feels bigger. It's beautiful to play on."

The Seagulls were beaten 3-2 by Tottenham Hotspur in the grand opening of the stadium on Saturday, but the Irish midfielder believes they can take the positives out of the defeat.

"It was a great experience for all of us," he said.

"They've got some great players and you can see the difference with their first touch.

"It can only bode well for the start of the season. If we brush up on our defending, we'll be right on course."

Brighton start their Championship campaign at home to Doncaster on Saturday.
