Brighton midfielder Gary Dicker eyes League One title

Brighton midfielder Gary Dicker says he would be disappointed if they failed to win the League One title.

The Seagulls currently lie four points clear at the top of the table, with three games in hand over nearest challengers Bournemouth.

Dicker, 24, told BBC Sussex: "If we keep winning they won't catch us.

"We've stayed top for this long and I don't think anyone wants to give it up, come second or go through the play-offs. We want to go up as champions."

The Irishman added: "Gus Poyet and Mauricio Taricco say we can only beat ourselves at this stage and we have to prove that by winning week-in, week-out and picking up the odd draw away from home."

Albion have been top of the table since September 25, but Dicker believes their next two games, away trips to MK Dons and Yeovil in the space of four days, could be crucial to them finishing first.

"I think this is a big week coming up for us," he continued. "If we get two good results we've got a great chance of pulling away from the rest."

Brighton boss Poyet added: "If you relax for a minute you're going to lose a game.

"I think we've been very consistent the whole season. We need to extend it for another two months."
