Brighton & Hove Albion winger Elliott Bennett has put in a transfer request, just two months after signing a new three-and-a-half-year deal.
The 22-year-old is wanted by Norwich, but Seagulls chairman Tony Bloom is not expecting him to leave this month.
He told the club website: "Nothing has changed. We don't want to sell Elliott, we don't need to sell the player."
Bennett joined Brighton in August 2009 from Wolves and has made 78 appearances for the League One leaders.
It is unclear whether he will play in Saturday's FA Cup fourth round tie at Watford.
