Brighton defender Adam El-Abd says that the Seagulls must respond well to Saturday's defeat by Huddersfield.
The 2-1 reverse at the Galpharm Stadium extended Brighton's League One winless run to four games and cut their lead at the top of the table to three points.
El-Abd told BBC Sussex: "We lost but we gave a good account of ourselves. We're not going to go through a season without losing a game.
"It's how we respond now and set ourselves up for Christmas."
The 26-year-old added: "There are a lot of positives to take. We probably would have won the game on a different day.
"We've lost three games in the league this year and we're still three points clear at the top of the table."
Brighton, who held an eight-point advantage at the top of League One at the beginning of November, welcome Notts County to Withdean Stadium on Friday.
