Brighton boss Gus Poyet rejects Virgo/Hart speculation
Poyet is more concerned with the cost of the shirts than the throwing of them.
Brighton boss Gus Poyet insists that there is no significance in two of his players ostentatiously waving and throwing their shirts into the crowd.
Seagulls midfielder Gary Hart and ex-captain Adam Virgo caused speculation that they might be set to depart the club after Monday's 5-2 win at Wycombe.
But Poyet told BBC Sussex: "When you win a game away from home, the fans deserve to take one or two shirts home,
"There's going to be a little bit of expenditure for the players," he joked.
Neither Virgo nor Hart were in Monday's starting XI, both having made appearances from the bench.
In fact, one-club man Hart, 33, who has just passed 400 appearances for the club, has made only two starts this season.
And former Celtic signing Virgo, 26, has played just twice since Poyet took charge at the beginning of November.
Veteran Seagulls striker Nicky Forster admits that both would be missed if they were to move on.
"I should imagine Virgs is disappointed," Forster told BBC Sussex. "Virgs is hungry to play and feels he should play.
"And Gary's been a fantastic servant for this club so I, for one, will be disappointed to see him go."
