Brighton striker Gary Hart says he was relieved to finally make his 400th appearance for the club.
Hart, 33, came on as a substitute in the 3-2 victory over Rushden and Diamonds in the FA Cup on Saturday.
The striker told BBC Sussex: "I was hoping to do it a few weeks ago, I was holding on. I was desperate to make it.
"It was a massive achievement and now I can look back and remember it. Not bad for a player who cost £1,000 and a full set of kit."
Hart was signed by Brian Horton from Essex League side Stansted and after 13 years was instrumental in keeping Brighton in League One at the end of last season.
He was awarded a new one-year contract by former boss Russell Slade and was given his first run-out by new manager Gus Poyet on Saturday.
"I am still playing at the end of the day and clocking up the games, very slowly now. I will play here if the gaffer wants me," Hart added.
