Brighton defender Kerry Mayo and midfielder Gary Hart have been offered new one-year deals - after being released by old boss Dean Wilkins.
The pair, who had both been at the club for over 10 years, have been involved in pre-season by new boss Micky Adams.
Hart told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "I want to prove I have got something. Experience is everything. You need experience to go and win things."
Adams said: "This is not a sentimental gesture. They have plenty to offer."
Adams had said on his arrival that he would reconsider Wilkins' released list.
Mayo, 30, and Hart, 31, were amongst 10 players let go by the former manager.
