Owusu was offered a permanent deal by Brighton after impressing on loan
Brighton boss Russell Slade says he faces a tough test in trying to replace departing centre forward Lloyd Owusu.
The Cheltenham striker, who was on loan at Withdean Stadium last season, opted to move down under to Adelaide United despite being offered a new deal.
Slade told BBC Sussex: "We're looking through it and sometimes we're all looking for the same one and so it's difficult to bring in the right man."
Meanwhile defender Andrew Whing is set to sign a new two-year deal.
Slade added : "Lloyd leaves on great terms we wish him well and he's deserved his move. We will always be grateful for what he did here."
Meanwhile striker Glenn Murray could still feature in Slade's plans for next season. The troubled striker appeared to be set for move away but the club has yet to receive a firm offer for him.
"We've had a few enquiries but nothing significant. We don't want to lose our best players but we want a player who wants to play for this football club. We hope he settles down but we may have to be open-minded and look at the situation."
