Owusu was in line to make his debut in the postponed Bristol Rovers game
Brighton's on-loan striker Lloyd Owusu believes that his new side deserve a higher positioning in League One.
The 32-year-old midweek loan signing is at the Withdean Stadium until the end of the season from the Seagulls' relegation rivals Cheltenham.
He told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "Brighton shouldn't be where they are, they are a great team with a great bunch of fans.
"They should be at the top end of the table without a doubt."
He went on: "Every Saturday and Tuesday we're out there on the pitch now, we'll just go out, give it our best and hopefully pop up the table."
Owusu is hoping to score the goals to lift Albion up the table.
"I'm just an old-fashioned centre-forward as they say, you could say target man. I've got other attributes as well, bringing players into play and scoring goals is my main repertoire," he said.
"I always believe I put 110% into my game, just an all-round hard working centre forward."
"People can't believe I'm 32 now, I've got quite a bit of experience now.
"With the likes of Nicky Forster and David Livermore there's a good bunch of experience so, with us lot just nurture the youngsters, bring them through and hopefully we can get points and move up the table."
