MacDonald to miss rest of season

Charlie MacDonald
MacDonald joined Brentford from Southend during the summer

Brentford's top scorer Charlie MacDonald has been ruled out for the rest of the season after dislocating his shoulder against Gillingham.

MacDonald, who has scored 18 goals in all competitions in his first season at Griffin Park, was hurt in stoppage-time at the end of the 1-1 draw on 28 March.

The striker had been ever-present in the League this season and is the third striker at the club to be sidelined.

Nathan Elder and on-loan Jordan Rhodes will also not play again this season.

The Bees will have to rely on three on-loan strikers for the rest of the campaign.

Currently at Griffin Park are Aston Villa's Sam Williams, Ipswich's Billy Clarke and Damian Spencer of Cheltenham.
