Scott has taken charge at Griffin Park |
Brentford have confirmed the appointment of Andy Scott as the club's manager following his successful spell in temporary charge. The Bees have won three and drawn one of the five games Scott has been at the helm for since the sacking of Terry Butcher as manager.
"Andy has earned the chance to show that he can maintain this level of performance," said chairman Greg Dyke.
"A team that looked to be in trouble has suddenly come alive."
Scott was a coach at Griffin Park before being asked to step up after Butcher's exit.
His first game as full-time boss will be an away match against Shrewsbury this weekend.
"I'm delighted to be named manager," said Scott.
"It's a fantastic chance for both myself and the club to improve.
"It may take time for me to get the players in that are required and to get them playing in the style I believe is successful.
"But anyone who has seen us over the past five games would agree that if we carry on in the same vein, not only will times ahead be exciting but also entertaining.
"The ultimate ambition is promotion, but given our restrictions it's important that I and the club work together and be sensible in trying to achieve our goal."
