O'Neill's Brechin took maximum points in October

Brechin City's former Northern Ireland midfielder Michael O'Neill has been named Irn-Bru Phenomenal Second Division manager of the month.

The Glebe Park side won all three of their league matches during October to climb to the top of the table.

However, City were humbled 5-1 at Peterhead last weekend and dropped back to second spot behind Raith Rovers.

Dundee wanted to speak to O'Neill about their managerial vacancy, but Brechin refused to grant permission for talks.
