Bradford City winger Omar Daley has targeted the middle of November for his return from injury.
The 28-year-old Jamaica international has been sidelined since February after undergoing knee surgery.
"I'm feeling good now and just trying to get my fitness back," Daley told BBC Radio Leeds.
"Mid-November is my target date for my first reserve team game and I can't wait for that. My recovery is now building quickly, which is good."
Daley scored four goals last season before his injury and his absence was a major factor in Bradford's failure to reach the League Two play-offs.
But, after such a long lay-off, he is determined not to rush his return.
"I just have to take it week-by-week and trying to get my confidence back up. I'm starting to sprint again and it's going well," he said.
"For the last week I've been doing ball work, with shooting and crossing, and I'm now able to take people on too.
"For the first five months it was very depressing and an awful time, in month six things changed and I started to feel better and look forward to getting back.
"I've spoken to the physio and he is confident I will not have lost any of my pace due to this. I certainly still feel as quick now as I did before the injury."
