Clarke to stay at Bradford City

Bradford City

Bradford City defender Matt Clarke has accepted a new one-year contract with the League Two side.

Manager Stuart McCall had offered reduced terms to Clarke, who made 45 appearances last season, as part of budget cuts at the club.

Meanwhile, Nicky Law will not be returning to Bradford after signing a two-year-deal at Rotherham United.

McCall had been hoping to tempt Law back to Bradford after a successful loan spell at Valley Parade.

He made 30 appearances for City, scoring three goals, but Law has chosen the Millers ahead of a permanent move to Bradford.

Clarke's decision to sign a new deal comes just days after fellow defender Lee Bullock agreed to a pay-cut to stay at Bradford for another year.
