Nix has played with the ankle injury throughout the season
Bradford City's Kyle Nix will have a scan on an ankle problem on Thursday, potentially bringing to five the number of midfielders out injured at the club.
Manager Stuart McCall told the Telegraph & Argus: "I've been there before. You don't do yourself any justice trying to carry on at 75-80%.
"If the ankle joint needs clearing up and he requires a couple of weeks rest, then that's what we'll do.
"He's been trying to help by keeping going but we need his ankle sorted."
McCall added: "He hasn't rediscovered his form from last season yet, but he's had this problem from the start."
With the injuries, it's good in a way that we've got the FA Cup coming up

Bradford will now be without six midfielders for Saturday's FA Cup first round tie at MK Dons.
Apart from Nix, four are already out injured while Huddersfield Town loanee Tom Clarke has not been given permission to play by his parent club.
McCall, however, does have options in other areas of the pitch, and with rules allowing seven substitutes to be named in FA Cup ties, he could give some fringe players a chance.
"I'm going to see who we've got available because three or four are carrying knocks but whatever team I put out on Saturday will have a real go," said McCall.
"With the injuries, it's good in a way that we've got the FA Cup coming up but we want to give a strong account of ourselves and try to win the game.
"One or two of the lads who've not been in regularly might come into the reckoning but we'll look at it."
