Michael Collins scored for the third game in a row to give Huddersfield a narrow victory at Brighton.
The midfielder found the net with a close-range shot but the home side should have levelled after Nicky Forster was fouled in the box.
Forster got up to take the spot-kick but was denied by a brilliant save from goalkeeper Matt Glennon.
He also blocked a follow-up effort from Bradley Johnson, who later hit the bar with a free-kick in the closing stages.
