Joint-chairman Lawn is an avid Bradford City fan

Bradford City joint-chairman Mark Lawn has said the club are searching for a commercial partner in America.

Lawn, who invested at Valley Parade in 2007, has said is especially looking at clubs in Nebraska.

"This isn't about getting players, it's about making money for the club," Lawn told BBC Radio Leeds.

"It's about branding and getting clubs to become part of the Bantams' image, we are planning to run trials with this very soon."

Lawn added: "We'll have to see what happens, I will always try and make money for Bradford City, that's what my job is."

After years of turmoil, the West Yorkshire club finally seem to be on stable footing both on and off the pitch.

Under the management of Stuart McCall City they currently top League Two, while thanks to Lawn and joint-chairman Julian Rhodes the club is financially much stronger than in recent years.

City also boost the highest average attendance in the division of 13292, thanks to a second year of cheap season tickets.

But Lawn has warned that his club need to find new investors by next year, if they are to continue their current upward curve.

"I've put most of my money into the club now, I haven't got a lot left, so we have to start getting our own funding together for next year. People think we are going to spend big next year, it's not going to happen.

"Having said that, if we get promotion this season then of course we will strengthen the squad but what I'm saying is that we won't be buying six or seven new players like we have done this season."
