Jon Stewart enjoys chance in Bournemouth first team
Cherries stand-in keeper Stewart had spells at Weymouth and Portsmouth
Bournemouth keeper Jon Stewart is keen to enjoy a good first team run after keeping a clean sheet on his full debut against Yeovil on Tuesday night.
First choice Shwan Jalal, injured late on in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Orient, is set to be out for six weeks after undergoing an eye operation.
But, having leaked two late goals after coming off the bench against Orient, Stewart helped earn a 2-0 midweek win.
"Saturday wasn't the best of debuts but this made up for it," said Stewart.
"I prepared for this game to get my head right," he told BBC Solent.
"I came in and did three good days of training, I felt good and it worked.
"I enjoyed every minute of it and I'm just looking forward to the game on Saturday."
Having moved back up to third in League One, Eddie Howe's Cherries now go into Saturday's FA Cup second round tie with Notts County at Meadow Lane on the back of a five-game unbeaten run.
Stewart got his chance after first-choice Cherries keeper Jalal suffered a fractured eye socket late on last Saturday at Brisbane Road.
And Bournemouth are still under an embargo preventing them from signing any more loan players until the New Year at the earliest.
