The Terras signed Beavon from Didcot Town in January 2007
League Two strugglers Bournemouth have cooled their interest in signing Weymouth's transfer-listed striker Stuart Beavon.
The former Didcot frontman is out of contract at the Wessex Stadium at the end of the season and was put up for sale by the Terras last week.
"Stuart is a good player, but Weymouth are asking too much for him," Cherries boss Jimmy Quinn told BBC Radio Solent.
"They want to get him off the wage bill, but we can't pay a fee."
Weymouth chairman Malcolm Curtis said: "If someone is prepared to make a serious offer for Stuart, and I mean serious offer, then we'd be foolish not to look at it.
"If they don't, then the board will be more than happy to re-negotiate with him. He's a popular lad, and we'd be sad to see him go.
"You've got to look to maximise your assets though, and do what's right for the football club."
The 24-year-old, who joined the Terras in 2007, has scored four goals in 14 games this season.
