Cherries plans nearing completion

Bournemouth's Dean Court home
Dean Court has three permanent stands and an empty end

Bournemouth are moving closer to announcing their ambitious stadium development plans at Dean Court.

The Cherries are working with the town's council, on a project involving a new South Stand, and leisure facilities on the adjoining Kings Park.

Chief executive Alastair Saverimutto told BBC Radio Solent: "We've got a meeting with the council next week, and I'm confident we can get it through.

"The council are right behind what we are proposing. It's very exciting."

He added: "The south end of the ground hasn't got a stand on it, and there's also a lot of open space behind it where there are footprints for development.

"This will benefit not only the football club, but also the local community too."
