Bournemouth have appointed Alistair Saverimutto as the Dean Court club's new chief executive.
Saverimutto takes over from Laurence Jones and will assume operational control at the club as they strive to exit administration.
Saverimutto, Everton's former head of commercial operations, brings a wealth of experience having been involved in sport for more than 18 years.
His career has also included playing rugby for Bath, Bristol and Gloucester.
Saverimutto told BBC Radio Solent he wanted to take the club forward.
He said: "I have sat down and worked relentlessly to put a strategic plan together that will secure the financial longevity of this football club, that has the ability to re-invest into the team and to take the team from where it is in League Two to higher levels.
"Of course we all live in the real world, and of course this administration has brought many woes, positive and negative."
Bournemouth will send a draft set of proposals to the Football League authorities by the end of this week which it hopes will pave the way for the return of its Football League share and an exit from administration.
