Bournemouth caretaker manager Stuart Murdoch has withdrawn his application to fill the post on a permanent basis. Goalkeeping coach Murdoch and head of youth Joe Roach have been working as joint caretaker bosses.
But the Cherries issued a statement to say Murdoch opted out of the running after being interviewed on Monday.
Bournemouth chairman Abdul Jaffer said: "I would like to thank Stuart for the marvellous job he has done over the last few weeks."
Former Derby County boss Phil Brown is believed to be leading the race to take over the Cherries hot-seat.
