Blackburn Rovers under no pressure to sell star players
Blackburn do not expect any major departures from their first team
Blackburn chairman John Williams has said the club will not be forced to cash in on players this summer.
Sam Allardyce's side finished 10th in the Premier League, ending the season with just one defeat in nine games.
Williams told BBC Radio Lancashire: "We have, through the Premier League, managed to secure some attractive rises in overseas television revenues.
"Those differences effectively mean we can return to being a trading club rather than a selling club."
Blackburn were one of the lowest spending teams in the top flight last season, despite having to deal with the departures of Roque Santa Cruz, Matt Derbyshire, Stephen Warnock, Andre Ooijer, Aaron Mokoena and Tugay.
Williams said: "It is a fact that we had to sell Roque Santa Cruz and Stephen Warnock in order to balance the books and maintain wage levels that were necessary for us to be competitive.
"The difference going forward is that within reason we can maintain our wage bill without the need to sell.
"It means that the 10th-place money has protected the fund started by the sale of Benni McCarthy to West Ham, so we have got some spending power in this close season."
