Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Ince has loaned out goalkeeper Frank Fielding to Northampton and midfielder Rostyn Griffiths to Accrington Stanley.
England Under-19 cap Fielding, 20, has joined League One side Northampton on a deal for up to three months to be reviewed on a month-by-month basis.
"He is a good young keeper," said Cobblers boss Stuart Gray.
Twenty-year-old Australian Griffiths, who was on loan at Gretna last season, has joined Stanley on a month's loan.
Fielding spent a season on loan at League Two side Wycombe Wanderers last year.
Gray said: "For a keeper so young he has a good deal of experience after a successful loan at Wycombe last season. He trained with us on Monday afternoon and fitted in well."
Northampton recently sold keeper Mark Bunn to Blackburn for a transfer fee thought to be in the region of 500,000.
Gray continued: "Frank will come in to work with and challenge Chris Dunn.
"Chris has done well in the two games since Mark Bunn left, and he will benefit from working alongside Frank, who has an excellent grounding in the game.
"Both of them will of course also be able to call on the experience of Jim Barron.
"Frank is the first new face this week and we are working on adding at least one more new player to the squad before the big derby match against Peterborough this weekend."
There is commentary of Northampton's match with Peterborough on BBC Radio Northampton on 104.2 and 103.6 FM.
