Blackburn dismiss Dunn link
David Dunn in action for Blackburn
Dunn is the England under-21 skipper
Blackburn have denied reports that Newcastle are trying to sign midfielder David Dunn.

Newcastle boss Sir Bobby Robson was said to have tabled a bid for the England under-21 captain.

But Rovers officials, who recently had to fend off transfer talk about Damien Duff, said there had been no contact between the clubs.

Rovers chief executive John Williams said: "I have heard the rumours but I can say categorically this club has not had any contact from anyone at Newcastle.

"I spoke to (manager) Graeme Souness and he did not mention it and so it is fair to say if he has not been contacted, and nor have I, then Newcastle have not come in for David Dunn."
