Barnsley manager Mark Robins is hopeful of extending Birmingham City striker Garry O'Connor's loan spell.
The 27-year-old will play the final game of his current stint next weekend against Sheffield United.
"He has worked hard and has done very well for us, we remain hopeful that something can be done," he told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"I've been talking to Garry and his representative. We will see what happens after this loan period."
O'Connor joined Barnsley on an initial one-month loan in September before returning for a second spell in November.
