Barnsley manager Simon Davey believes defender Rob Kozluk will accept the club's offer of a new contract.
The 31-year-old's current deal has now run out, but he has been offered the chance of extending his spell at Oakwell into a third season.
Davey told BBC Radio Sheffield: "We've offered Rob a one-year deal and I fully expect him to sign it.
"He's a key member of our squad and the only reason he hasn't put pen to paper yet is because he is away on holiday."
Meanwhile Davey has admitted it is unlikely Barnsley will re-sign Liverpool winger Adam Hammill, who spent time on loan at Oakwell last season.
"We would love to bring Adam back but Liverpool want to assess him during pre-season before deciding if he can go anywhere else," he said.
