Barnsley manager Simon Davy has started his summer clear-out with seven players leaving the club. Neil Austin, Antony Kay and Marc Richards will all be departing the club before the start of next season.
Youngsters Nathan Jarman, Dale Tonge, Stefan Holt and Ryan Laight are also on their way out of Oakwell.
But skipper Paul Reid, player of the season Brian Howard and teenager Luke Potter have all signed new contracts that will keep at the club until 2009.
Bobby Hassell, Martin Devaney and Robert Atkinson all signed new deals until 2009 last month for the Tykes, who have secured their Championship status for next season.
