Barnsley will not pursue their interest in Kazim-Richards |
Barnsley boss Andy Ritchie says he has ended his interest in want-away Brighton striker Colin Kazim-Richards. The Tykes boss recently admitted he wanted to sign the 19-year-old after he handed in a transfer request at Albion.
"Brighton are asking too much for a player they got for nothing after winning a competition last summer," Ritchie told Barnsley's website.
"He has potential, but we will not pursue it and we are now talking about bringing someone else in."
Earlier this week, Kazim-Richards had repeated his desire to leave the Withdean Stadium.
He had moved to Brighton from Bury in June 2005 in a move funded by a Seagulls fan winning 250,000 in Coca-Cola's Win A Player competition.
