Fairclough will have a say in the search for his successor
Paul Fairclough is to relinquish his duties as manager of Barnet after almost five years in charge.
The 58-year-old will make way for his assistant Ian Hendon, who will take temporary control following Sunday's match against Bournemouth.
Barnet are in 21st place in League Two having not won a match in 13 attempts.
"In football it is ultimately the manager who pays the price for poor results," said Fairclough, who has been appointed as a director of the club.
Fairclough will also take up a new role with Barnet Sports Development, a new complex due to be finished in the summer.
Fairclough led Barnet back into the League as Conference champions in his first full season in charge in 2004/05 and also twice led the side to the fourth round of the FA Cup during his reign.
