Aldershot defender Ben Herd says his side's FA Cup second round defeat by Dover Athletic was "a disgrace".
The Shots were beaten 2-0 by the Blue Square Bet South side at the Crabble Athletic Ground on Saturday.
Herd, 25, told BBC Surrey: "I feel sorry for everyone involved with the club because we've let them down.
"We showed no spirit, no fight, no heart. To be out fought is nothing short of a disgrace and I can only apologise to everyone."
He added: "Dover showed guts and commitment. We've not given the fans anything. It's scandalous really.

"People will get on at the manager [Kevin Dillon], but people should aim the abuse at us. It's our fault.
"We've got to take the flak for the manager and the coaching staff. We have to look in the mirror."
