Aldershot Town midfielder Manny Panther is hoping to settle at the club following his summer move.
Panther, 26, has played for York, Exeter, Rushden and Morecambe, the latter two on loan, since 2007.
He told BBC Surrey: "You're always looking for somewhere to settle and be grounded. Every player wants that.
"No player wants to switch clubs every season. You're always moving to search to find somewhere stable. Hopefully this a place I've found."
He added: "Different circumstances makes players move around a lot."
Panther says he is happy to stay out of the limelight and play as a defensive midfielder.

"My job is for the team. Over the years I've always been a holding player. I know what I'm good at," he said.
"My game is to get on the ball, keep it simple and stop the other team from attacking.
"I've no problems going in and doing the job the manager wants me to do."
