Grant has regained his place after being out of favour
Aldershot striker John Grant says his experience taught him to be patient for his return to the club's first team.
After just one start in four months, the 28-year-old returned to the starting XI in games against Barnet and Rochdale, scoring twice.
He told BBC Surrey: "I've scored nine in nine reserve games, and three in three in the first team.
"It was frustrating for Gary Waddock and Martin Kuhl to lose faith in me. It's just nice to feel wanted again".
Grant added: "You never know what's round the corner. I've been in the game a few years now. I've been surprised how I've been able to get through the games considering I've not played many.
"I've felt good for a long time, just been waiting for the chance, and hopefully I'll get more chances before the end of the season."
Grant has also been giving advice to fellow striker Marvin Morgan who has consistently been linked with a move to a higher league.
"Everyone's got ambition. If it's a so-called bigger club, you want to play as high as you can, and you can't knock him either way.
"But as long as he's at Aldershot Town he'll give his best because that's what he's all about."
