Aldershot striker Marvin Morgan was delighted with the Shots' 3-1 win over Darlington on League Two opening day.
The 26-year-old opened the scoring after just three minutes and was treated to a standing ovation from fans after the final whistle.
"It was good to start the first game with a goal and with the result as well I'm happy," Morgan told BBC Surrey.
"The fans are quality, I love the fans, hopefully this year I can repay them with goals."

He added: "That's what I'm here to do and I really want to do better than last year.
"I really want to push on and get into the double figures with goals."
