Newman will wait to find out if he will get a new deal (Aldershot FC)
Aldershot veteran utility player Ricky Newman is hoping for another spell in the Football League.
The 37-year-old has played for four League clubs in a 20-year career but spent two years in non-league before the Shots' recent promotion.
He told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "Any promotion is great, and we stuttered a bit but have now got over the line with games to spare.
"There will be changes next season. I don't know about me yet, we'll see".
"I love the way we've played. If they score three, we get four. I don't think we'll get away with that next year, but we've got all summer to enjoy yet."
Newman has also paid tribute to new manager Gary Waddock who arrived in the summer after Terry Brown's five years in charge.
"Gary and Martin [Kuhl] have bounced off each other. Last year we had games where we just didn't take our chances. I've got a lot of time for Terry Brown, but Gary and Martin got us up and I'm dead chuffed."
