 Airdrie say Kevin McDonald was wanted by other clubs |
Kevin McDonald has moved permanently to Airdrie United after impressing at Excelsior Stadium during his loan spell from Hibernian last season. The 22-year-old midfielder, who came through the ranks at Easter Road, was out of contract at the end of the season and was not offered a new deal.
Airdrie say a number of other clubs were interested in the player.
McDonald told Airdrie's website: "I enjoyed my time here last year and I like the set up."
Airdrie were relegated to Division Two last term.
And manager Kenny Black said: "I think that Kevin can have a big role to play for us this season and he will have a great opportunity to shine in the Second Division."
Black added that he was soon hoping to add further new faces to his squad.
