2200: I'm going to sign off now. Thank you for all of your contributions on what was an entertaining evening of football. Don't forget you can see the online highlights of both games on this website shortly after midnight.
2157: "Good win again for Celtic. Eight goals against bottom six opposition over two games is about what you'd expect from the champions. And we're playing decent football after the twenty-five wobbles we had this season." MicksATim is a happy man over on My Sport. Join the debate on My Sport
2155: Steven Whittaker gets the nod for man of the match at St Mirren Park, while Aiden McGeady takes the Sportsound honours from the BBC Radio Scotland team.
2150: Celtic have a tricky trip to Tynecastle on Saturday lunchtime, while Rangers host a Motherwell side desperate for points to secure a top six place. This championship race has some way to go yet, I suspect.
2148: "Rangers must stop adopting the one-goal victory policy. Have they forgotten about that goal difference they once led by 11!!!" richbluebear18 is not content with the three points.

2144: Full-time: St Mirren 1-2 Rangers
The Ibrox side remain three points behind in the title race after a tense victory. The visitors looked home and dry at 2-0 up but had a little wobble once Andy Dorman reduced the deficit.
2142: St Mirren are throwing substitute defender Will Haining up front, while sub Nacho Novo is subbed for Andrius Velicka.
2141: Three minutes of injury time signalled.
2139: Still a few minutes of regulation time to go and any extras at St Mirren Park. The home team are launching a lot of long balls to no great effect.
2137: Full-time: Celtic 4-0 Falkirk
A very comfortable night for the home side. Falkirk posed little threat and simply had no answer to Celtic's pace, passing and power.
2135: GOAL - Celtic 4-0 Falkirk
Stephen McManus lifts the ball into the danger area and fellow defender Darren O'Dea bundles in a volley from close range.
2134: Paddy McCourt making a rare Celtic appearance sees his toe-basher shot deflected over for a corner.
2130: Falkirk substitute Kevin Moffat is a dead-ringer for Placebo front-man Brian Molko. I wonder if he warms up in a floor length leather coat?
2129: "Rangers are not committing a lot of bodies into the box because they're trying to see this game out." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds.
2125: "Come on Gers, we can't keep scraping results out, we'll get caught out eventually. Grab a third and kill it off." god_is_a_gers_man is getting a little bit nervous over on My Sport.

2122: GOAL - Celtic 3-0 Falkirk
A neat move involving Gary Caldwell and Andreas Hinkel ends with Aiden McGeady firing into the bottom corner from 25 yards to make sure Celtic pick up all three points.
2120: Scott McDonald fires wide from 14 yards after being put clear behind the Falkirk defence. Good pressure from defender Dean Holden prevents the striker from picking his spot.
2116: Carl Finnigan latches on to a poor back-pass from Shunsuke Nakamura but can't lift his shot over Celtic keeper Artur Boruc and a rare Falkirk chance is gone.
2114: Rangers break at pace and Nacho Novo races on to Kris Boyd's pass to send in a low strike but Mark Howard gets a powerful hand behind the ball to keep it out.
2112: I'm tempted to sneakily delete my 2101 entry. St Mirren have Rangers pinned back. Maybe text contributor Paul in Glasgow (see 2048) was on to something???
2110: Time for a wee factoid. Dorman's goal is the first Rangers have conceded away from home in the SPL in 2009.
2107: GOAL - Celtic 2-0 Falkirk
Celtic virtually make the points safe as Shunsuke Nakamura's low cross is missed by Dani Mallo at the front post and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink knees the ball over the line from four yards.
2106: GOAL - St Mirren 1-2 Rangers
Andy Dorman latches on to Craig Dargo's excellent threaded pass and finishes neatly past Neil Alexander.
2105: Tonight is certainly the night for painful head knocks, with Pedro Mendes the latest player to fall foul of the curse.
2104: Dani Mallo makes a brave save to punch away a poor headed back-pass from Lee Bullen as Scott McDonaldcharges in on goal.
2102: Just as I open my big mouth, Buddies striker Craig Dargo cracks in a useful volley but it's straight at Neil Alexander.
2101: Nothing's really working out for St Mirren tonight. It's not from a lack of endeavour but the final ball is letting them down badly.
2056: Celtic are fairly peppering the Falkirk goal and Scott McDonald fires just over from 20 yards.
2055: We're underway again at St Mirren Park.
2053: Celtic continue the second half on the front foot and Aiden McGeady curls an effort just over from the edge of the penalty box, while Scott McDonald slices an ambitious volley just wide.
2049: We're off again at Celtic Park. Tam Scobbie, the subject of that heavy challenge from Scott Brown, fails to return. Dean Holden comes on in the Falkirk defender's place.
2048: "Would I just be setting myself up for a huge disappointment saying St Mirren will come out all guns blazing and win 3-2?," asks Paul in Glasgow via text on 80295 . Pundit Billy Dodds skilfully avoids answering the question on BBC Radio Scotland but 'yes' would be my answer.
2046: "Looks like losing Bazza could be a blessing in disguise for Rangers," says Ghuru_Bhoy on My Sport and adds a few other cheeky remarks for good measure.

2044: While I get my breath back from all those injury updates and the odd goal, remember you can see highlights from both games on this website shortly after midnight.
2040: "Re: 2030, surely you mean a red for another player," says a cynical anonymous texter on 80295 .
2038: Half time: St Mirren 0-2 Rangers
Walter Smith's men have dominated from the start, with St Mirren struggling to cope in the midfield area.
2034: Half-time: Celtic 1-0 Falkirk
The visitors are lucky not be further behind as Celtic went for the kill in the closing stages of the half after a rather sluggish start.
2033: The Falkirk crossbar is shaking again as Mallo does superbly well to touch a fierce Stephen McManus header on to the woodwork.
2032: Scott McDonald swivels superbly 12 yards from goal, but his shot on the turn is saved by Dani Mallo. From the corner, Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink's header strikes the underside of the bar before bouncing clear and being punted upfield by the Falkirk defence.
2030: Celtic's Scott Brown is shown a yellow card for flying in with the studs on Tam Scobbie as the Falkirk defender attempts to clear at the edge of the box. That might have been a red on another day.
2029: Rangers midfielder Steven Davis has a pop at goal from around 25 yards but the ball swerves wide of the target.
2028: "Boyd, Player of the Year ? He's not even allowed to play against Celtic,"says Jamie via text on 80295 .
2026: "Egg on my face? Try a full omelette!" is the response from poor old lanky ffc on My Sport. "Never really expected anything from tonight, Saturday against Killie is the big one."

2023: That's the fourth bad first half injury of the night. Dailly is on now.
2022: There could be another injury concern for Rangers, with Sasa Papac leaving the field to receive treatment after being caught late by Craig Dargo's late challenge. Christian Dailly is warming up.
2021: It is all Celtic now and Scott McDonald sends a header straight at the goalkeeper from 10 yards from a tasty Aiden McGeady cross.
2020: "The problem with Boyd is his goals frequently come against 'lesser' teams." Neil from Motherwell via text on 80295.
2017: Scott Brown comes close to extending Celtic's lead with a curling effort from 22 yards that slips a few feet wide.
2015: GOAL - Celtic 1-0 Falkirk
Defender Gary Caldwell scores his third goal of the season, heading home at the back post after a Shunsuke Nakamura free-kick to the front post is flicked on by Scott McDonald.
"You felt Falkirk were weathering the storm and getting forward themselves and then they give away a silly free-kick. Nakamura's delivery was not particularly good, but it was a superb finish." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Murdo MacLeod.
2014: Andy Dorman's shot is deflected high into the air and Billy Mehmet's header drifts wide for St Mirren.
2013: "Hesselink on for Celtic... We're pretty much guaranteed a clean sheet aren't we?" Lanky ffc is just asking for egg on his face over on My Sport.

2012: "Surely Kris Boyd for Player of the Year. 26 goals and 7.5 games left. Has anyone been more effective at their job in their position?" Stephen from Ayr via text on 80295 .
2009: "The St Mirren fans are silent but the Rangers supporters are more than happy with what they've seen in the opening 20 minutes."Expert analysis from BBC Radio Scotland commentator Paul Mitchell.
2009: Falkirk's Tam Scobbie glances a header wide from 14 yards following a corner. The Bairns defender ought to have hit the target at least.
2007: They're dropping like flies tonight! Steven Pressley is the latest player to leave the field of play early. The elderly defender makes way for fellow codger Lee Bullen.
2006: GOAL - St Mirren 0-2 Rangers
Pedro Mendes' in-swinging corner is bulleted into the net by Maurice Edu , who scores his first goal for Rangers.
2005: An amazing miss from Kris Boyd! The Rangers striker sclaffs a left-foot strike wide of a gaping goal from six yards.
2002: Having helped set up the Rangers goal Beasley reckons he's had enough. Nacho Novo replaces the injured USA international.
2001: Celtic striker Georgios Samaras hobbles off holding his hair. It can't be a split ends problem, can it? Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink comes off the bench.
2000: GOAL - St Mirren 0-1 Rangers.
Beasley springs a quick attack and Kris Boyd rifles the ball into the net from Sasa Papac's crisp cutback.
1958: DaMarcus Beasley makes a miraculous recovery after being stretchered off. The Rangers winger is now gambolling like a spring lamb.
1957: Celtic striker Georgios Samaras sneaks in behind the Falkirk defence but his strike lacks power and keeper Dani Mallo pushes it away at his near post.
1955: Falkirk striker Michael Higdon lets fly with a powerful, rising shot from 18 yards and it whistles narrowly over the crossbar.
1954: Now Saints' Gary Mason is in need of treatment with a cut on the top of his head. It certainly is a physical contest at St Mirren Park.
1953: Ouch! Rangers' DaMarcus Beasley, a surprise inclusion in the starting line-up, suffers a head knock following a collision with Steven Thomson but is now back on his feet.
1952: Falkirk are knocking the ball around quite nicely at Celtic Park but neither side has had a sniff at goal yet.
1948: The Buddies get us started at St Mirren Park. The home side are first to threaten but Steven Whittaker keeps a calm head to nod the ball back to Gers keeper Neil Alexander.
1947: We're off at Celtic Park. Not quite ready over in Paisley...
1945: A strange choice of pre-match music at St Mirren Park. That's the duelling banjos number from Deliverance being played!
1943: Not long to go now, so strap yourself in next to your computer and forget about that namby-pampby Champions League stuff. Well, if you must keep up, you can have a swatch at the live text currently being knocked out by Jonathan Stevenson, but keep it down to a quick peek.
1940: It's blowing a gale out there. I was nearly buffeted off my bike on my way to work! The teams will have to be wary of the 'swirl factor' at St Mirren Park as the gusts sweep in between the stands at the four corners of the pitch.
1937: "Two home wins this evening could mean the end of the championship race. I can't see Rangers turning around a 6 point gap - not to mention their poor morale. They need to churn out a result in order to keep themselves in the hunt and get their chins up." GlasgowJambo1987 pipes up on My Sport.

1931: "Over the last couple of months, the boys have been fantastic and that's why I am confident that they will get the results to keep us in the SPL. We need to change it a wee bit and pull Scott Arfield back into midfield, but we're going to have a go at Celtic." Falkirk head coach John Hughes talking to BBC Radio Scotland.
1930: "Easy win for Celtic tonight. 3-0, I reckon. Rangers will likely scrape a win similar to the one at the weekend. 1-0 there, I think." The clearly non-partisan Hail_Hail has his say over on My Sport. Join the debate on My Sport
1926: Of course, Rangers are without Barry Ferguson and Allan McGregor, who are serving an internal suspension for their foolish behaviour while on Scotland duty.
Earlier today, Ibrox assistant manager Ally McCoist told the club website: "The manager and club have taken action. We have to stand by that and move on. It is as disappointing a week in terms of things like that as I have ever had."
1924: Yankee doodle duo Maurice Edu and DaMarcus Beasley are in for Rangers, along with Steven Naismith. McCulloch, Fleck and Novo make way. St Mirren replace Garry Brady with Stephen McGinn, who scored the winner when the teams met in October.
"Garry has not done a lot wrong and there will be games to come when he is involved. But young Stephen McGinn has been doing well in the reserves and when he has come on." St Mirren manager Gus MacPherson tells BBC Radio Scotland.
1920: Celtic are unchanged from the team that swept Hamilton aside on Saturday. Michael Higdon and Darren Barr are back for Falkirk.
"Some lads will be disappointed, but we're just letting it roll," explains Celtic manager Gordon Strachan . "But the guys in possession understand that there are guys who can take their place."
1915: Good evening. The Old Firm are on league duty against sides battling relegation as Celtic host Falkirk and Rangers visit St Mirren.
Gordon Strachan's side enjoy a three-point lead over their fierce rivals in the title race and strolled to a comfortable 4-0 win against Hamilton Accies at the weekend.
Rangers laboured to a 1-0 success at Falkirk after Kris Boyd cracked in his 25th goal of the season.
The Bairns are stuck at the foot of the table and will have to get over their apparent reluctance to get down and dirty if they are to scrap their way out of trouble.
St Mirren haven't won a league game this year and are just three points better off than Falkirk.
The formbook suggests comfortable wins for the big boys but we all know this league has a habit of throwing up the odd surprise and Gers boss Walter Smith won't need reminding that his team lost out to the Paisley side in October.
As ever you can listen online to BBC Radio Scotland's coverage of both matches and send in your comments to My Sport or by text on 80295
