By David McDaid
1518: Well, that, as they say, is that.
Rangers are Scottish Premier League champions for 2008-2009, ahead of Celtic by four points.
Hearts sealed third place and a Europa League berth last weekend, and today they were joined by Aberdeen who snatched fourth spot.
There'll be a few tears for fans of Celtic and Dundee United.
The league is over, but we'll be back next Saturday for the Scottish Cup Final, where Rangers could bag a domestic double against Falkirk.
Hope to see you again then. And remember, you can see the highlights of today's matches on the BBC Sport Scotland website from midnight. Don't miss them!
1513: David Weir lifts the SPL trophy aloft as red, white and blue ticker-tape flutters around Tannadice.
1511: New Rangers captain David Weir and deposed skipper Barry Ferguson hang back till last to get their medals.
1507: The SPL trophy has appeared on the Tannadice pitch to a chorus of "It's coming home, it's coming home..." from the away fans.
1505: Bain adds "...this football club deserves to be winning championships." A reference to Mr Samaras perchance? Maybe just coincidence.
1504: "It means a lot for everyone at this club." says Rangers chief executive Martin Bain, who no doubt is rubbing his hands at the thought of all that lovely Champions League lolly.
1502: "The only excitement we got at Celtic Park was that Dundee United goal-that-never-was. Celtic huffed and puffed today." BBC Scotland pundit Murdo MacLeod
1459: "The boys were terrific!" Rangers boss Walter Smith is the epitome of pithiness.
1457: FULL-TIME: Aberdeen 2-1 Hibernian
Look out your passports Dons fans!
1456: "You don't get any better days than this. I'm just going to enjoy this." say Rangers captain David Weir as he avoids revealing if he'll play on at Ibrox next season at the age of 39.
1455: FULL-TIME: Celtic 0-0 Hearts
1453: "Absolutely incredible. I've never wanted anything as much in my life. I'm drained." Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist.
Wow.
1452: Manager Walter Smith is held aloft the shoulders of his players. Barry Ferguson throws his jersey to the fans. I wonder if there's any meaning to be derived from that.
1451: FULL-TIME! Dundee United 0-3 Rangers
And Rangers are officially Scottish Premeir League champions 2008-2009.
1451: And Sone Aluko has the spot kick SAVED by Ma-Kalambay low to his left! STILL 2-1 to the Dons with minutes to go.
1450: PENALTY to Aberdeen for handball!
1449: Some Rangers fans have unfurled a 'Champions' banner. Imagine Dundee United got four in the last minute! And Celtic also scored.
Yeah, right!
1448: Aberdeen have about five minutes to go before they pip Dundee United to a European spot for the second year in succession.
1447: "It's a surreal atmosphere at Celtic Park. They are playing on, but their season came to an end 30 minutes ago with that third goal at Tannadice" BBC Radio Scotland commentator Paul Mitchell
1446: "Bougherra's been so good again. He's been a colossus at the back." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds at Tannadice
1444: "My nerves = shredded!" says AFCleigh on My Sport There are around seven minutes to go at Pittodrie, with the Dons 2-1 up on 10-man Hibs.
1443: "It seems like Dundee United are making a habit of throwing away European places."says Phil in Dundee on 80295.
1440: Correction! It is now circling over the pitch, much to the delight of the away fans.
1439: The helicopter with the SPL trophy has nearly arrived at Tannadice.
1438: Rangers are really enjoying themselves. The job is all-but done, yet they're still pushing for number four.
1437: Rangers fans at Tannadice become reacquainted with that old ditty of title winners...
"Championees, championees..." It's not too difficult to master, really. No song sheet required.
1435: Marian Kello again denies Celtic, first from a 15-yard Scott Brown drive and then with a block from Shunsuke Nakamura's subsequent corner.
1434: RED CARD! Ian Murray of Hibernian at Pittodrie.
The Hibs defender is given a second yellow for obstructing Peter Pawlett.
1432: Barry Ferguson makes a cameo for Rangers, replacing Kenny Miller.
1431: Lee Miller can score with his bottom, but hits the ball straight at the Hibs goalkeeper from just six yards out. A sitter! That would have settled a lot of nerves in the north-east!
1430: "The fat lady is clearing her throat..." - kimitastic49 with that lovely image, there... on My Sport
1429: So, Kris Boyd ends the season on 31 goals. That's some tally!
"He's had a fine match, it's the hardest I've ever seen him work." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds at Tannadice
1428: "Hearts are looking lethargic, Celtic are looking flat. It's not the best recipe for an exciting football match" BBC Radio Scotland commentator Paul Mitchell
We're looking at two teams who have nothing to play for now except on-the-day bragging rights.
1428: Dons striker Lee Miller aims for a more conventional goal, blasting a low free-kick from just outside the box that ricochets wide of Yves Ma-Kalambay's right-hand post.
1427: Rangers scorer Kris Boyd is replaced by Nacho Novo.
1425: "Still a bit of anxiety creeping in every now again to Aberdeen's play." BBC Radio Scotland commentator Scott Davie
Hibs' Steven Fletcher hits a weak right-foot shot but it's gathered easily by Jamie Langfield. The Dons are 25 away from sealing a Europa League spot.
1423: Rangers boss Walter Smith was quoted in the papers saying he feared for his job if he didn't win the title today.
It looks like he doesn't need to worry anymore. But what about Celtic's Gordon Strachan?
Jack in London says by text on 80295: "I said it after his first game in charge and I'll say it again in what will hopefully be his last game. STRACHAN MUST GO! The man does not have the passion required for the job."
1421: "United look like a beaten team." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds at Tannadice
In 30 minutes they officially will be. A question of semantics I suppose...
1420: At Celtic Park Aiden McGeady fires wide from 12 yards as the home side attempt to at least go out on a high against Hearts.
1418: "Can we get an interview with Samaras?" asks warriorCraigB on My Sport in reference to Celtic's Greek striker saying Rangers would not be deserved champions.
1415: Rangers fans are in full voice in Dundee. They're celebrating their club's 52nd Scottish championship - the fifth during the Scottish Premier League era, which began in 1998-1999.
1414: Game, Set, Match, Championship. Agreed? Difficult not to.
1412: GOAL! Dundee United 0-3 Rangers
Kris Boyd left-foot tap-in from five yards from Whittaker's ball. So simple. How many times have they surrendered a three-goal lead, Andy?
1409: Just in case you think it's all over... my knowledgeable colleague Andy Campbell has donned a pith helmet to exploring Statland...
"Rangers have already surrendered a two-goal lead this season with Hearts coming back to claim a draw at Ibrox in March." he says. I think you would long odds of that happening today though.
1408: "I think United need to think about a change of formation. Francisco Sandaza's been warming up." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds
1407: BBC Radio Scotland commentator John Barnes at Tannadice has revealed that the title looks to be heading to Glasgow.
...
...
Insightful.
1406: We're playing again in Glasgow and Dundee.
1405: The teams are out around the country. Is there any more drama in store this half?
1404: Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is on for Celtic - replacing Georgios Samaras.
1400: "It's a bit flat at Celtic Park." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Murdo MacLeod. The guys on Sportsound are chatting about how Celtic Park 'went bananas' when the rumour circulated of a phantom United equaliser against Rangers.
1354: "I've never really followed Scottish leagues so this is probably a stupid question but how does the 12 teams/38 games played work out?" asks manutdspecial on My Sport
First of all, welcome! Second of all, where have you been until now?
Third, I'm glad you asked that... because it's one I can answer. Here we go...
All teams play each other three times, after which the top six teams and bottom six teams split to create two mini-leagues in effect. This process is imaginatively called 'The Split'.
So, that's 33 games out the way. Then the top six and bottom six play each other (five games) reaching 38 games.
It's all in order to make the end-of-season matches meaningful. It's a system that divides opinion, but this year it has certainly worked.
1352: HALF-TIME Aberdeen 2-1 Hibernian
And Dundee United's Europa League hopes are rekindled.
1351: GOAL! Aberdeen 2-1 Hibernian
It's raining goals at Pittodrie! Just as it looked like the Dons had Europe in the bag, so to speak, Derek Riordan dances past two Aberdeen challenges and pinging the ball into the corner of the net.
1350: GOAL! Aberdeen 2-0 Hibernian
Charlie Mulgrew from a direct free-kick! Again Ma-Kalambay was suspect in the visitors' goal as Mulgrew flights the ball over Hibs's wall beyond the Belgian goalie.
1349: HALF-TIME: Dundee United 0-2 Rangers HALF-TIME: Celtic 0-0 Hearts
1347: GOAL! Dundee United 0-2 Rangers
Pedro Mendes cracks a left-footed volley low from the edge of the box. Great technique! And Rangers look like breaking three years of Celtic title domination.
1346: It's full-blooded stuff on Tayside! United are desperate to get on the ball and back level. Darren Dods CRUNCHES Maurice Edu!
1343: Glenn Loovens has taken a sore one on the head as Kello tried to punch the ball clear. Celtic's Dutch defender is getting slowly to his feet, though, so that's good news.
1342: "That could be a match saving clearance." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds at Tannadice
1341: INCREDIBLE clearing header off the line by Mihael Kovacevic at Tannadice!!
Boyd absolutely THUMPED the ball from eight yards and the Dundee United defender somehow reacted to head wide. Ouch!
1339: "It's been a nervy performance from Celtic so far." BBC Scotland's Kenny Macintyre at Celtic Park.
1338: "The Dons qualifying for Europe would ease the pain of the world's worst hangover. Keep it up lads!" says Sheeptastic_1903 on My Sport
It could also create a good few hangovers, n'est-ce pas?
1336: The Dons have Hibs pinned back at Pittodrie. Peter Pawlett drives from eight yards out, the ball is deflected on to the post and to safety.
1335: Hearts Christos Karapidis troubles Artur Boruc with long-range effort which the Pole gathers at the second attempt.
1334: The ball's in the net again from Lafferty at Tannadice - but Miller was offside before he slipped his pass to the Northern Irishman.
Still 1-0.
1332: "A big hello to all those meant to revising for Higher geography on Wednesday (or is it Tuesday?)." says Davgroos on My Sport
Good luck all. Of course you should all be studying, but a couple of hours off can't hurt, eh?
1330: Aberdeen are going for more. Scott Severin rasps in a shot from 20 yards, Ma-Kalambay parries into the patch of Peter Pawlett, who volleys over the bar.
1329: Twinkle-toed Celtic player Aiden McGeady cracks a shot in from 18 yards, which Kello turns on to the post.
1328: "Bad miss by McDonald... but far too early to call it a key moment in the outcome."opines Webby.
1325: At Celtic Park we have a huge misunderstanding! Someone seems to have started a rumour that Dundee United have equalised. The home fans go wild, but it's just a Chinese Whisper gone wrong.
1323: '"They all count" Remember Nacho Novo against Hibs?' asks Davgroos on My Sport
Haha! I see what you're saying.
1322: Celtic's Scott McDonald blasts the ball into the stand from eight yards with Kello prone on the deck. That was a real miss!
1321: "Celtic got off to a good start, but after that Hearts have settled down but with no real cutting edge." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Murdo MacLeod
1320: The Dons are now in the Europa League driving seat.
If all stays the same the table would look like this:
Rangers Celtic Hearts Aberdeen Dundee United
1318: GOAL! Aberdeen 1-0 Hibernian
Lee Miller in the most bizarre fashion! Hibs Yves Ma-Kalambay makes a total hash of a clearance and it comes off the Dons' striker backside and flashes into the net.
They all count.
1317: United are getting back into the game a little against Rangers. Paul Dixon's cross is headed down into the arms of Rangers goalkeeper Neil Alexander comfortably by David Robertson.
1315: A number of you are still saying Lafferty has blotted his copy book against Aberdeen.
1314: "If anyone thought Hearts were coming here as passengers they were wrong. They are going for it." BBC Radio Scotland commentator Paul Mitchell at Celtic Park
1311: "It's heating up quite nicely now. Boyd's like a man possessed. Every single Rangers player playing his part at the moment." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds at Tannadice
Indeed it is, Rangers are looking good.
1310: That Rangers goal is also good news for Aberdeen - and their captain Scott Severin shoots inches wide of Yves Ma-Kalambay's left-hand post.
Remember, if United lose and Aberdeen win, the Dons are in Europe next season.
1309: That's the start Rangers wanted. Lafferty was pilloried - even by his own fans - after his simulation to get Charlie Mulgrew sent off.
I'm sure all is forgiven now!
1308: GOAL! Dundee United 0-1 Rangers
Kyle Lafferty slides in to convert Kris Boyd's shot past Lukasz Zaluska.
1306: Shunsuke Nakamura hits an early free-kick straight down the throat of Maros Kello in the Hearts goal. A poor effort by the Japanese's very high standards.
1305: Rangers forward Kyle Lafferty is roundly booed by the Dundee United fans following his play-acting against Aberdeen last week.
1304: Rangers should've taken the lead! Davis cut across the six yard box - but both Boyd and Miller kick fresh air.
Rangers look absolutely pumped up for this one!
1303: The Celtic fans are belting out a rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone. Impressive.
1302: And we're off! they're supposed to be synchronised but Celtic get going a wee bit earlier.
1259: Nearly there! Celtic Park and Tannadice are rocking!
1254: 'Slip-up Sunday' or 'Squeeky-bum Sunday' are other suggestionsfor what to call this momentous day on the text on 80295.
1252: "If you've got a chance to win the title on the final day, you go and do it. And I see Rangers grabbing a late winner." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Billy Dodds
1250: I nearly forgot!!! Happy Birthday Dundee United!
100 years young today! Do you think they got a letter from Her Majesty?
1249: For those of you not au-fait with the background to 'Helicopter Sunday'... it's as complicated as this...
There's a chopper at Cumbernauld airport - the most convenient for both Dundee and Glasgow - which will take the SPL trophy to the champions when the result looks clearer.
1247: re 1242 'Black Sunday, if Celtic win the league.' says pedro mendes govan cruisader.
Touche!
1242: Everyone seems to have settled on the moniker 'Helicopter Sunday' for today. But does anyone have a better alternative?
None of us in here can think of anything better... that we can broadcast!
1241: Jimmy Calderwood has literally laughed off suggestions he's about to quit the Aberdeen hot-seat.
1240: Team news in from Aberdeen. Stuart Duff in for Mark Kerr in the Aberdeen midfield.
Kerr, of course got a bit errr... 'duffed' up himself midweek. Meaning he can't play.
1238: "Who cares about today, the most important game of the season was yesterday. I feel sorry for Inverness but rather them than us!" says Bairn_O_Falkirk ... who ... and I'm going to stick my neck out... is a Falkirk fan.
I totally agree about Inverness. Sad stuff. Big terry Butcher was nearly in tears during his post-match interview.
1235: HA! Ross in Glasgow via text 80295 says he feels 'as nervous as an MP picking up the Tekegraph!"
Brilliant!
1233: Anyway, enough of that mince.... Celtic make one change - Darren O'Dea into the defence for Lee Naylor.
Celtic boss Gordon Strachan sounds REALLY relaxed...
Do you think there's more pressure on Rangers - given it's theirs to lose?
1223: "There's a real belief that we can win the game and win the title. The important thing is that it's in our hands." Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist.
1221: This is brilliant! It shows how EVERYONE has been talking about the SPL championship. Even The Fonz is in it! But you're left asking one question.. What team does Deek from River City really support???

Scotland braced for SPL drama
1219: "I always speak with the owner, but I am the one who decides who plays. I have a two-year contract and I am only thinking of planning for next season" said Laszlo.
1218: Well, the Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo has told BBC Scotland there's nothing to worry about after reports he had a tete-a-tete with his boss Mr Romanov. They met last night to chat about player budget for next term.
1215: So, we're down to the last day for the fourth time in seven years. See? Behold the handiwork of my esteemed colleague Keir Murray
1214: It's so important to get that top spot, and not just for the kudos of being SPL champions. The winners also go direct to the Champions League group stages and enjoy the millions of pounds that go with it... while the runners-up has to begin qualifying in July, assured of nothing other than a very short summer break.
1212: David Templeton comes into Hearts' midfield to play Celtic, while Marius Zaliukas returns from suspension.
Rangers are unchanged at Tannadice. Barry Fergsuon is on the bench.
1210: BBC Scotland reporter Chick Young at Tannadice tells us the Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo has had a fall-out with the club owner Vladimir Romanov over today's team selection against Celtic.
Apparently Romanov wanted to blood youngsters with third place all sewn up, but the manager wanted to go with his strongest side.
And it all looked to have calmed down at Tynecastle...
But BBC Scotland reporter Chris McLaughlin at Celtic Park says the Hearts line-uplooks quite normal
1206: "What a day in prospect including a very tough-looking game for the Gers. Let's hope the old ticker can stand it!" says BlueHeaven on My Sport.
I know exactly what you mean - can't wait for it all to get underway.
There are no easy games for ANYONE today. Rangers and Celtic have dropped four points to their opponents over the course of the season.
Aberdeen v Hibernian Celtic v Hearts Dundee United v Rangers
Here are the all-important permutations...
If Rangers win they're champions - plain and simple - no matter what Celtic do.
If Rangers don't win, and Celtic do - Celtic are champions - they have a better goal difference.
And, of course, Aberdeen and Dundee United have Europe to play for...
United need a point to guarantee Europa League football for next season. BUT... if Aberdeen win and Dundee United lose... It's the Dons who will finish fourth in the league with a better goal difference.
Got that???
1200: Afternoon all!
This is it, ladies and gentlemen. This is what the season boils down to.
Ninety minutes of nerves, sweat and drama - with some football in there too.
To the winners, the spoils - namely the Scottish Premier League title for either Rangers or Celtic.
And the final Europa League place will be awarded to either Dundee United or Aberdeen.
The action kicks-off at 1300 BST. And you can listen to the lot on BBC Radio Scotland.
Here's an idea... Why don't you do that while bashing F5 for our updates?
And if you can stop biting your fingernails for long enough, send us your thoughts as the afternoon unfolds on My Sport or send us a text on 80295.
