Wayne Hennessey is contracted to Wolves until 2012
John Toshack insists Wales goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey is good enough to play in the Premier League.
The 21-year-old Wolves star has been linked with a 5m move to top-flight giants Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
"Wayne has been outstanding for us and he is certainly up to Premier League standard," said Wales coach Toshack.
"He has made good saves against Czech Republic, Germany and Russia and there's no doubt he is ready to go up to the highest level."
The Welshman is one of the hottest properties outside the Premier League but Wolves boss Mick McCarthy does not want to lose Hennessey.
His Molineux contract has been extended until 2012 but as Toshack pointed out: "I know Mick has used the other Wolves goalkeepers quite a bit and I know a few clubs are interested in Wayne.
"Maybe if he is not performing regularly, there could be a move for him in the pipeline."
Hennessey is battling it out with Hull goalkeeper Boaz Myhill for the Welsh number one jersey and the 13-times capped goalkeeper has impressed for both club and country.
Myhill, 26, has played an integral part in Hull's excellent start to the season and the Tigers currently lie sixth in the Premier League.
"In my first three years as Wales manager, I used six keepers before these two came along," said Toshack.
"Without being disrespectful to the others who were good pros, these two are the ideal situation for a manager in such a key area of the field.
"Boaz is a terrific character and doing very well playing in the Premier League with Hull.
"Wayne has been doing nothing wrong and Boaz understands the situation, he has taken up the challenge and is pushing Wayne.
"Now it's up to the pair of them, it's a nice position for us because we can sit back and let them battle it out between them themselves.
