A late goal by Brendan Shannon seals the points for Glenavon
Glenavon secured their first home league win over Mid-Ulster rivals Portadown since 1999 to maintain their 100% start to the Premiership season.
They were down to 10 men after Conor Walsh had been sent-off when full-back Brendan Shannon snatched an 87th-minute winner at Mourneview Park.
Former DC man Shannon cut in from the left and his shot looped off a defender to beat keeper David Miskelly.
Walsh picked up a second booking on 74 minutes for a foul on Ross Redman.
Glenavon had a penalty claim turned away by ref Deesie Loughery in the 15th minute when Mark Miskimmin went down under a challenge by Ross Redman.
Home keeper Andrew Plummer then made two fine saves from Wesley Boyle and another excellent effort to keep out Alan Teggart's shot.
