Portadown lost out 3-2 to Qarabag on aggregate despite earning a battling draw in the second leg of their Europa League second qualifying round tie.
The Azerbaijan side enjoyed the better of the first half and David Miskelly made fine saves from Afran Ismayilov, Raut Aliyeu and Rashad A Sadygov.
Miskelly again denied Aliyeu before Kevin Braniff gave Portadown the lead with a free-kick in the 71st minute.
Ismayilov levelled for the home side with seven minutes remaining.
"It was a difficult ask but the players gave it everything in 30 degree heat," said Ports assistant boss Kieran Harding after the game.
"We went a goal up and were chasing the second and had them worried, but the conditions were tough."
