Striker Richard Lecky scored a third goal in successive European matches but his Portadown side fell to a first leg defeat by Qarabag of Azerbaijan.

Lecky's right-foot finish in the 29th-minute raised hopes of another Europa League win in Europe after beating Skonto Riga in the first qualifying.

But a well-worked move by Qarabag on 66 minutes ended with Afran Ismayilov firing in the equaliser.

Ismayilov gave the visitors their win with another goal in the 86th minute.
