Former Portadown striker Gary McCutcheon has agreed terms with Ballymena United and is to officially sign for the Sky Blues on Saturday.

Thirty-year-old McCutcheon was released by the Ports at the end of last season.

United boss Roy Walker has also announced the arrival of highly-rated goalkeeper Ryan Brown from Larne.

Walker had already signed midfielder Ryan Berry from Glentoran, striker Richard Gibson from Coleraine and defender Denver Gage from Ballymoney.

Further transfer activity is expected with two other players possibly joining in the coming weeks.

They are believed to be a wide player and a central midfielder.

Walker said: "I have been busy and I am happy with the business we have done so far.

"We are not finished yet in the transfer market with hopefully another two players to join".
