David Jeffrey aims to clinch the Premiership title on Saturday
Linfield boss David Jeffrey has hit out at the Irish FA after having to play two cup semi-finals in three days.
The Blues beat Coleraine in the Irish Cup on Saturday but lost out 3-1 on aggregate to Bohemians in the Setanta Cup after Monday's 1-0 home defeat.
"I would like to thank the Irish FA, who in its wisdom made us play two semi-finals in 48 hours - that's real intelligence," said Jeffrey.
"We could have played this game on Tuesday night - I can't work it out."
"I am glad it wants it's local teams to do well," he told the News Letter.
Jeffrey rued missed chances in both legs against Bohemians but his focus now turns to Saturday's league game against Crusaders, with a victory at Seaview securing the Carling Premiership title.
"We should have got something out of the first leg at Dalymount Park, and in this game we did everything but score," he said.
"But congratulations to Bohemians. They defended resolutely and got the 1-0 win.
"We will dust ourselves down - being champions of your own domestic league is the priority but it will tough.
"Crusaders are looking to secure third place, so they have their own objectives. Saturday will be absolutely ginormous."
