Crusaders boss Stephen Baxter has brought Michael Collins back to the Irish League after the midfielder was released by Dundalk.

The 32-year-old former Cliftonville, Portadown and Newry City star will not be able to play for the Crues until the transfer window opens on 1 January.

"I spoke with Cliftonville but as soon as I met Stephen Baxter my mind was made up," said Collins.

"His plans are impressive and I'm looking forward to being part of it."

"Looking at Crusaders from the outside I have thought that Stephen is the best young manager around," he told the Belfast Telegraph.

"When I met Stephen I told him that I'm not motivated by money, I just want to be paid fairly.

"What I really want is a medal. I'm back in the Irish League and I want to win it.

"If I can finish my career having won the league with three clubs I'd be more than happy."
