Dungannon 2-1 Lis Distillery

Andy Hamilton
Andy Hamilton scored Dungannon's opener in Tuesday's game

Dungannon Swifts moved into fourth place in the Carling Irish Premiership table by defeating Lisburn Distillery at Stangmore Park.

Following a poor first half, all the excitement came after the break as Andy Hamilton put the Swifts ahead 30 seconds after the restart.

Timmy Adamson doubled Dungannon's lead with a 51st-minute header.

Glenn Ferguson pulled a goal back for Distillery on 85 minutes and Neil Gawley missed a late equalising chance.

Gawley should have earned the visitors a point but he headed wide from pointblank range.

Hamilton celebrated his return to Stangmore Park after a spell at Coagh United as he raced clear to put the Swifts ahead after Adamson had controlled an Alvin Rouse clearance and played a superb pass to the striker.

Adamson extended Dungannon's lead by heading home Marc McCann's cross on 51 minutes.

Ferguson gave Distillery hope with his 85th-minute goal by blasting home from 16 yards after taking a pass from Gawley.

Gawley should have earned the improving Whites another valuable league point but he headed his glorious chance wide in the closing minutes.
